Frequently asked questions

How is the score calculated?

Each content type has a severity โ€” how much it concerns a reader. Reviewers mark how prevalent it is, and every content type present lowers the score, so serious concerns compound while a single bad element can dominate. A book with nothing of note scores 100. The severities and the prevalence curve are configurable, so the scale can be tuned over time. See the current weights โ†’

What do the categories mean?

Categories cover the concerns a Christian reader tends to weigh: language, sexual content, substance abuse, violence, and spiritual content. Each category contains more specific items so the breakdown stays transparent.

Can I write reviews?

How do I add a book?

On the review page, enter the book's ISBN and we'll look up the title, author, cover, and other details automatically. You can also enter the details manually.
